Athena is pleased to announce that we are a proud sponsor of the Philadelphia Museum of Art's upcoming exhibition, Dreamworld: Surrealism at 100.

Press Release

"I am delighted to announce that Athena is proudly sponsoring the highly anticipated Dreamworld exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art," says Maggy Wilkinson, CEO of Athena, a Philadelphia-based marketing consultancy that works with clients such as Comcast, NFL, Subaru, Hitachi, and Liberty Latin America. Wilkinson sits on the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Corporate Executive Board and Athena is a member of the museum's Corporate Partners program. In spring 2024, Athena sponsored Mary Cassatt at Work, the first major showing of the Pennsylvania-born artist's work in more than a quarter century at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Philadelphia is the only U.S. city to host the exhibition, which is the show's last stop on a nearly two-year tour that consistently sold out in cities across Europe.

"The Manifesto of Surrealism, written by Andre Breton in 1924, emphasizes the power of dreams and the unconscious as sources of artistic inspiration. I find it fascinating to view works that strive to reveal the psyche unencumbered by influences such as reason, aesthetic beauty in a traditional sense, or even morality, for that matter." says Wilkinson.

"The Art Museum has long kept Surrealism part of the broader conversation in art through its significant Marcel Duchamps' holdings and major retrospectives like Shocking! The Art and Fashion of Elsa Schiaparelli in 2003 and Salvador Dali in 2005. We hope that all Philadelphians and visitors from around the world will find time to experience the deeply imaginative works that comprise Dreamworld."

The Philadelphia Museum of Art's rich community impact programming aligns with Athena's mission, vision, and values.
